Meet the Team
Coaches Ethyn Baker and EC Cantrell founded 4G Performance after both of their international-level rugby careers were cut short by injury. With years of competing overseas and honing their skills at the highest level, they bring unmatched expertise and a deep passion for athlete development.
What started as a rugby training program has grown into a multi-sport training hub, sharpening athletes in speed, agility, fitness, and skills to dominate their game and goals.
Both coaches have competed at the international stage, and now their mission is clear: to push Charlotte athletes to their limits, unlock their highest potential, and create a new standard of excellence in U.S. sports.

An international rugby player, EC became the first American — male or female — to captain a Super BUCS rugby team in the UK at Cardiff Metropolitan University. EC believes Charlotte is a hidden breeding ground for talent and is dedicated to getting athletes to train at the elite level
Though concussions cut her playing career short, EC’s passion for sport drives her coaching. She brings international-level experience, knowledge, and energy to every session, helping athletes sharpen their skills, build confidence, and dominate in their sport.

Ethyn Baker’s rugby journey started in Charlotte, NC with the Tigers and took him to Cardiff Metropolitan University — where he played on the top team out of 12 — and then to the professional stage with the American Raptors in Denver, later to training with the USA National Rugby Team in Charlotte, NC. Known throughout his career for his speed , agility, Ethyn now specializes in helping athletes across all sports move faster, sharper, and stronger.
He has trained MMA fighters, soccer players, softball players, basketball players, football players, and rugby athletes, bringing proven results through elite-level speed, agility, fitness, and skill development. Rooted in football, rugby, and MMA, Ethyn’s passion is pushing athletes to train like true competitors and unlock their next level of performance.
While multiple ACL tears ended his rugby career earlier than the rugby community would’ve liked, Ethyn is determined to get athletes to their full potential with the knowledge and experience he has gained from his playing career.
